Book Review #3
Eric Carle " The Very Hungry Caterpillar Pop-up Book"
Recommended for ages 4-8
What a great book with outstanding illustrations. It gets used so much we are on our second copy! A caterpillar eats his way through different foods until he is full and weaves a cocoon transforming into a beautiful butterfly. This new 40th anniversary pop-up version makes the whole story come to life. The children love each and every page. The pictures are bold and colorful and the text is simple. There are many teaching tie-ins throughout the book such as counting, reviewing the days of the week, nutrition and even science.
A great book for pre-school and early learners.

Book Review #2
Bill Martin "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?
( My First Reader Book )
Recommended for ages 5-8
This is a very simple book. The repetition and colorful illustrations make it a classic and a favorite of many children. On each page we meet a new animal who helps us discover which creature will show up next. "Brown Bear, Brown Bear what do you see? I see a redbird looking at me..." This pattern is repeated over and over , until the pre-reader can join in with the reader, predicting the next lines. The children think they are actually reading and are very proud of themselves that they can actually do it.
This book is a lot of fun for early learners!

Book Review #1
Dr. Seuss " Green Eggs and Ham"
( I Can Read It All By Myself Beginner Book )
Recommended for ages 4 - 8
I highly recommend " Green Eggs and Ham." This book is full of fun photos, fantastic illustrations, lively characters and poignant messages; but also is a great tool for learning about the initial process of reading and recognizing the written language. This book may lead to a love of reading, wouldn't that be wonderful !
